I got letters in the dollar section of Target, they were Black and made of Wood.
I then went to JoAnn's and purchased Chocolate Brown acrylic paint and a turquoise glitter acrylic paint, felt in green, yellow, and white, embroider floss in green, 2 buttons for the eyes, red ribbon, craft wire, and black pom-poms.
I painted the letters chocolate brown and allowed them to dry.
I then painted the face of the letters the glittery turquoise, this took quite a few coats as I was trying to cover the brown.
I then drew out a frog pattern on the felt and cut it out. I sewed the eyes and eye buttons on the body. I took the extra felt and placed it inside of the frog as a padding to make him 3-d. I then glued him shut and sewed around the edges and his legs. I then sewed his mouth and his cute little yellow dots for his cheeks. I glued a strand of ribbon for this tongue.
For the flies, I used a small black pom-pom, and a slightly larger black pom-pom. I glued two together to make the body, and then cut out wings from the white felt and glued them on the larger pom-pom. I then took the craft wire and wrapped it around a wooden dowel to make it like a spring. I took and old needle and drilled a little hole in the wooden letter, stuck the tip of the spring in glue and stuck it in the hole. I then glued the fly to the spring. :) I can certainly make better instructions for anyone that wants them so just message me! :)
I hope Jr and Katie like them! :)
Oh...my A.D.D. kicked in and I totally forgot that I still haven't actually attached the frog to the letter....whoops. So I am going to figure that out before the Birthday Party on Saturday! :)
